Semmelweis Jim Berry, 21:46

In 1847, the Hungarian physician Ignaz Semmelweis discovered that many cases of childbirth fever had been caused by the fact that doctors weren’t washing their hands before treating pregnant women. His findings were spurned by the medical community.
