Chandler Lebeau-Dubois has Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and recently had a stillborn baby due to her illness. She has been told her entire life that she is unable to have children due to SCD but is determined to have the childbearing experience. Chandler and her husband, Phillip, begin to research cures for SCD and all roads lead to a Bone Marrow Stem Cell Transplant. Chandler has an older sister, Jean Lebeau, who is the best match for a transplant, although they have been estranged for years. The sisters begin to repair their relationship, and Jean agrees to give Chandler the bone marrow.
