After Marie Curie’s husband tragically dies, she falls into depression as her peers question her work and deny her funding. Another scientist, Paul Langevin, helps Marie get back on her feet, and she helps him with a groundbreaking theory as they fall in love. When Paul’s wife discovers the affair, she threatens to kill Marie and publishes their intimate letters, creating a scandal.
