Alyssa Weinberger
Alyssa originally started her education as a pre-med student, studying neuroscience. That means that she was not only studying human psychology, but also the physiology involved in figuring out why people do what they do. Her secondary major was in film studies with a concentration in screenwriting. True, these are fairly disparate pursuits, but it wasn’t until recently that she began to realize how similar her motivation was for studying the two. In both, we’re asked to open up someone’s skull and see just what is happening underneath. Obviously, in one this sort of probing is much more literal, but all the same, both seek to answer the question ‘Why?’ For Alyssa, that’s the most exciting question of all. Alyssa was awarded a Sloan Screenplay Grant in 2012 at USC for Singularity.
