Jonathan Sanden
Jonathan graduated from NYU’s Undergraduate Film and Television Production program in May of 2006. During his time there, he completed his first 16mm short film, Adam & Eve, a retelling of the classic Genesis story set in the modern day. Throughout 2005 and 2006, Jonathan worked primarily on research and pre-production for his thesis film, Extropy. In the spring of 2009, Extropy was finished on 35mm and had a run in local film festivals including NYU's First Run Festival, the Imagine Science Film Festival, NewFilmmakers NY, and the Hoboken International Film Festival.
From 2006 through 2008, Jonathan worked for The Weinstein Company’s post-production department in New York. In that time, he worked on the editorial and post-production of numerous feature films. He edited the final cut of the 2007 film Dedication with director Justin Theroux, and completed the U.S. version of Wong Kar Wai’s first English language film, My Blueberry Nights, in early 2008.
In 2009, Jonathan took a position at Deluxe New York, a state-of-the-art post-production facility. In his role as the digital intermediate editor, he routinely works with word-class cinematographers and directors (Sam Mendes, Ang Lee, Mira Nair, and Jodie Foster among them) to help them bring their vision to the screen.
Jonathan Sanden was awarded a Production grant at NYU in 2006 for Extropy
