Jake Johnson
Born in Chicago, Jake Johnson received his B.F.A. from the Department of Dramatic Writing at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He is the co-founder of the critically acclaimed sketch comedy group, The Midwesterners, as well as the comedy group, This Is My Friend. Highlights include performances at The Second City Theater, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, Seattle Sketch Festival, Chicago Sketch Festival, Improv Olympic Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Fringe Festival. Jake received the 2002 John Golden Playwriting Prize, the Sloan Fellowship for Screenwriting, finalist for American College Theater Festival award for Best New Play, finalist for Actor’s Theater of Louisville Ten-Minute Play Festival, and his play, Cousins was produced by The Ensemble Studio Theater. Jake is currently living in Los Angeles where he is writing plays, short stories, screenplays, and working as a television commercial actor.
