Kevin Blackistone
Kevin Blackistone (US/AT) is an artistic researcher using immersive, tangible, participatory and performative elements as tools for exploratory engagements focus on networks of cross-interactions between our human organism(s), its habitats & inhabitants, and their technological interrelations. His research background includes a BA in digital arts (UMBC), post-bacc research with the Laboratory of Neurogenetics (NIH), and MAs in interactive art and digital sound and synthesis (University of Arts and Design, Linz), including research exchange with the Digital Nature Group of Tsukuba University. He has exhibited and presented at exhibitions, festivals and conferences including Ars Electronica, Mapping Festival, Siggraph Asia, xCoAx, NIME, ICMC, Zeiss-Großplanetarium, and Miraikan. He currently instructs interactive immersive performance at the Ars Electronica Center and leads the Brain Computer Interface hackathon at the University of Arts and Design Linz.
