On their way to observe a lunar eclipse, 18th-century Chinese female astronomer Wang Zhenyi and a young girl Luna disrupt a ceremony exploiting the people's false beliefs of the celestial event. To avoid arrest, they must prove their theory and challenge a society unready to accept women in science.
