While in pursuit of a beautiful undergrad, Michael comes across an operating nuclear reactor and decides to make it the subject of his short film. In response to his journalist father’s critical review, he hastily mails the reel to KNBC-TV. The school administration pressures Michael and his team of rag-tag activists to back off, but, instead, they dig deeper and uncover evidence of a nuclear meltdown at a secret government test site thirty miles north of Los Angeles. In over their heads, Michael and his friends must now take on the authorities that spent twenty years keeping the accident a secret.
