"Ampersand" is both science visualization and a music video that takes the audience on an animated journey through the universe from the subatomic scale to the galactic. Weaving between abstract designs and representational images of nature and science, "Ampersand" creates a fun experience set to the music of the Greek band Keep Shelly in Athens. The title "Ampersand" is meant to connote the fact that in science (and other fields), the way you look at a subject and the scale you look at it determines your perspective; for example, you can look at a fish as a collection of atoms, AND as an individual organism, AND as a part of an ecological system, etc. The "and" – or ampersand (&) – becomes meaningful when you realize that there's always a different, yet equally valid, perspective on reality.
