Second follows two characters—an artist and a long-haul truck driver—whose vision are seriously affected by diseases of the eye. The film follows these characters in their normal lives and as they begin to experience the loss of their vision. After visiting their doctors, the artist learns about the potential of a bionic eye, and the truck driver learns of the bio-electronic drug pump to treat his condition. The film ends with the characters' lives after the procedures. The film is a combination of digital 2-D and 3-D animation.
