After an ice-skating accident, Lisa and her daughter Electra abruptly find themselves in two separate dimensions. Strings portrays their struggle to re-unite—Electra has landed in another Braneworld, but her mother can sense her presence across dimensions and they remain connected to each other through the "strings of the heart." The film explores the interconnectedness between humans and the universe, and deals with concepts of superstring theory, investigating the possibilities of extra dimensions in the universe.
