Nadine Pequeneza

Nadine Pequeneza is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and owner of HitPlay Productions, an indie production company headquartered in Toronto. Her screenplays are based on more than two decades of observing and documenting true stories around the world. Her first feature screenplay 1047 DAYS was selected for the CFC/Netflix Calling Card Accelerator and the feature script was a finalist for the Humanitas New Voices Fellowship 2023. RARE EARTH, her follow up feature, was selected for Stowe Story Labs 2024, Athena Film Festival Writers Lab and the Alfred P. Sloane Fellowship 2025 and was a finalist for The Writers Lab Canada 2024. Her writing has also placed in the quarter finals at The Writers Lab International, WritersXWriters, Final Draft Big Break, ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship and Page International Awards. Nadine’s latest screenplay, DESCENT, was born from her years of documentary filmmaking in Haiti.
