Merry May Ma
Merry May Ma is a 3rd year MFA Director from UCLA. Based in Los Angeles, she is a queer woman filmmaker with a disability from Shanghai, China. She revels in capturing the strength of human minds and the tiny beautiful moments in daily life. She strives to feature unheard voices and unsung heroes across the globe. Due to her immense imagination and devotion to social-justice-oriented storytelling, she was awarded the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Production Grant and Panavision New Filmmaker Grant for her thesis film GARDENERS (in post-production), as well as Mary Pickford Award, the Motion Picture Association of America Award, Edna & Yu-Shan Han Endowed Award, Lynn Weston Fellowship and Francesco Film Production Award.
