Ezra Lerner is a pre-WGA screenwriter that specializes in socially conscious one-hour dramas at the intersection of race, sports, and politics. His work tends to focus on Black and interracial people struggling to find their place in the world. He is currently writing about political radicalization and climate change, in part, to honor the legacy of grandmother and environmentalist, Sally Lerner. His short film script, The Corner Plot, based on the true story of his other grandparents buying a home in rural North Carolina, was a semifinalist in the 2022 BlueCat Screenplay Competition. He is slated to receive his MFA in Writing for Screen and Television from the University of Southern California.
