Malique Guinn

Malique Guinn is a playwright, screenwriter, aspiring songwriter, and lover of people and himself who hails from Lancaster, CA. He began to envision worlds outside of his own at an early age, like around 9 or something. He is currently an MFA student in the Dramatic Writing Program at Carnegie Mellon University, after previously studying playwriting under the tutelage of Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig at UCSB. His play one act play Gang Sines, which has since developed into a full length play, won the Kennedy Center Hip Hop Theatre Creator Award in 2018. It would then go on to be a semi-finalist for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival and have a production via DUAF NYC. His screenplay, One Hand Washes The Other, is the winner of the 2021 CMU Sloan Screenplay Grant.
