Joel Santner
Joel David Santner is a writer and director who grew up in Indiana before moving to Washington, DC to pursue his acting and directing career in theatre. He holds a BA in Theatre from Hanover College and an MFA from the Academy for Classical Acting at the Shakespeare Theatre and George Washington University. He is an Associated Artist with Faction of Fools, a member of the Taffety Punk Theatre Company, and was also a founding member of the TPunk Generator–a program that develops new work through dance and music. In 2011 he co-wrote, produced, and directed his first feature film, Bare Knuckle. That year he won the DC Shorts Screenplay Competition for his screenplay, Mirror Image. Some of his feature screenplays include Bare Knuckle Part II, Abstract #23, Mother’s Silk, and Tunnel Rat. At SCA Joel is pursuing writing and directing. His short script, A Craftsman, was produced by USC in Spring 2017 and his feature script, Tunnel Rat, is currently a Quarterfinalist for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship.
