Eben Portnoy
Eben Portnoy grew up in the backwoods of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, working on his parents’ vegetable farm and helping his father, a restoration ecologist, with field work in the salt marshes. He went on to teach art and travel the world making experimental pop music. His narrative and documentary films match a gently surreal sense of humor with a poetic and visceral approach to image and sound. His work has found support from the Google Creative Collective, the Mary Pickford Foundation, and the Michael Minor and Robert Green Foundation. Eben Portnoy was awarded a Sloan Production grant at UCLA in 2012 for Wild Love.
