Lynne Kuemmel

Lynne Kuemmel is graduated Carnegie Mellon with an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing. Her thesis screenplay was the feature-length political thriller Jurisdiction. She has written and directed the film shorts Shhh… and (sub)TEXT, for which she received a Pittsburgh Filmmakers New Works Grant and a Kodak Film Award. Other short films include The Fight, Cardio Workout, Frisbee, and The Cube. She has written several teleplays for production at WQED, including The Roommate, The Good One, Shipping Out, and Espionage. Her full-length play Monongahela House was a finalist in the Alliance Theater of Atlanta’s M.F.A. playwriting contest. Kuemmel was a member of the WOW Café Theater from 1998 through 2003, where her full-length plays Thicker Than Water and I May Never Go Home were produced, along with several cabaret pieces. Kuemmel is a member of the Dramatists’ Guild. Lynne Kuemmel was awarded a Production grant at Carnegie Mellon in 2004 for The Work of 50 Men.
