Tobin Addington
Tobin Addington was born and raised in Missoula, Montana, and decided to become a filmmaker at age 12. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Willamette University with a B.A. in English Literature, he moved to New York to pursue his M.F.A. in Film Directing and Screenwriting at Columbia University. While in film school Addington was selected to be a department research assistant, received two teaching assistanships, and was hired to teach a film directing course for Columbia undergraduates. He also worked as the assistant for writer/director Patrick Stettner on his feature film The Night Listener, starring Robin Williams and Toni Collette. In addition to winning the 2005 Sloan Feature Screenwriting Award for Fire-Line, Addington’s feature screenplay The Whirlwinds won Faculty Honors at the 2005 Columbia University Film Festival. His short film Storm premiered at the 2004 Northwest Film & Video Festival, and his upcoming thesis film Dancing Ground was shot last August in Montana. Addington misses the mountains, camping, and fishing, and likes to visit the west as often as possible. Tobin Addington was awarded a Screenwriting grant at Columbia in 2005 for Fire-Line
