Carter Anne McGowan
Carter Anne McGowan is a producer and screenwriter. She co-wrote and produced the feature film, Jingle Hell, which was an Official Selection at 12 film festivals and won numerous awards on the festival circuit. Jingle Hell went on to be distributed by Janson Media and was broadcast on PBS/MetroArts as well as Metro TV. Her other screenwriting work includes In Ntesinan (EIC Prism/Generation Next National Fellowship, Hamptons Screenwriters Workshop), Courting Disaster, Malice Aforethought, and Running Ithika. McGowan’s plays have been produced in off-off-Broadway theaters in New York City, including the Goldberg Theater and Manhattan Theater Source, and in 2002 she was playwright-in-residence at NYU’s Classical Studio. She is the winner of the Waldo Salt/Ian McClellan Hunter Screenwriters Award from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, from which she has an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing.
Carter Anne McGowan was awarded a Screenwriting grant at NYU in 2002 for Flight
