Craig Horning
Craig Horning is a recent graduate of the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, where he earned his Masters of Fine Arts in Screenwriting. While in school, he was the recipient of AFI’s William J. Fadiman Screenwriting Award for his script Ludlow, a period drama based on real events surrounding turn-of-the-century coalfield wars in Colorado. Horning was also the recipient of the 2002 Sloan Foundation Award for his script Tatiana, about an attempt to rescue the last Russian Tsar and his family in 1918. He recently completed Jerzy, the true story of Polish priest Jerzy Popieluszko, who was murdered by the Polish secret police in 1984 for holding pro-Solidarity rallies. Jerzy is currently in pre-production. Prior to working as a screenwriter, Horning worked as a technical writer for Hughes Aircraft. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from UCLA in 1980.
Craig Horning was awarded a Screenwriting grant at AFI in 2002 for Tatiana
