Mily Mumford

Mily Mumford (they/them) is a queer-trans and disabled writer-director for film and theatre with a focus on science fiction and horror narratives with a social justice lens. They have created over twenty works for the stage, and several award-winning short films and music videos. They are currently directing their first feature-length documentary through Telefilm’s Talent to Watch programme and they are alumni of the Warner Brothers Canada Access Writers Program (2022), the TIFF Series Accelerator (2024) The GEMS Genre Lab (2024) and the inaugural Disabled Producers Lab with the NSI and DSO (2025). In addition to creative work they hold a BSc. in Neuroscience and an MSc. in Interactive Technology and their scientific research greatly informs their creative work and vice versa.
