Rita Pereyra
Rita Pereyra is a female writer/director from Mendoza, Argentina. Raised by a determined single mother who immigrated to Miami, Rita's childhood was marked by adversity and resilience. Despite facing poverty and uncertainty, Rita found solace and inspiration in the stories she watched on screen. Defying the limits of circumstance, Rita earned two degrees in Political Science and English from Florida International University, graduating with honors while immersing herself in activism and community work. Now, as she enters her final year as a Master’s candidate at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts—where she’s been honored as an Annenberg Fellow—Rita remains rooted in her mission: to amplify the stories too often sidelined. Pereyra’s work, like her journey, is fueled by a simple truth: who gets to tell stories shapes whose lives matter. And she’s here to make sure more of us are seen.
