Min Ding was born and raised in China. She migrated to the United States with her family when she was seventeen. She graduated from SUNY Purchase College where she received her BFA in Graphic Design and then worked for the award winning new media company Funny Garbage in New York City. She has also worked as an Event Coordinator for the Chinese American Beauty Pageant Show Miss Chinese Beauty Pageant. Currently pursuing her MFA in Film Direction from Columbia University School of the Arts, Min has received the Columbia Women-in-Film Fellowship. Ding‘s goal is to make films that speak personally on global issues. Min Ding was awarded a Production grant at Columbia in 2011 for Three Light Bulbs.
