Alon Aranya
After producing and directing two short films and a one-hour drama for Israeli TV entitled The Outer Light, Alon Aranya moved to Los Angeles where he worked for production companies and Studios as a development executive. Amongst the films he has helped develop are The Devil’s Advocate and Varsity Blues. Following that, he wrote and directed an independent feature film, Connecting Dots (2004 NY & LA Independent film festivals). Last Cigarette (2005), a 10-minute play Alon wrote, was produced at The New Works Festival through First Look Theater Company. Aranya is currently a second-year graduate student in the department of dramatic writing at NYU and is directing and producing a feature length documentary on the 1906 earthquake and fires in San Francisco through May of 2006. Alon Aranya was awarded a Screenwriting grant at NYU in 2005 for The Theory of Everything
