Marcelo Mitnik
Born in England, where he got a passport but not the accent, and raised in Argentina, where he got the accent but not a passport, Marcelo Mitnik now lives in LA, where he is trying to prove that his homeland exports more than tango and good beef. His work, both in English and Spanish, has won or placed in twenty-three competitions; including the Nicholl Fellowship, the Austin Film Festival, the Jack Nicholson Prize in Screenwriting, the British Academy of Film and Television Fellowship, the Sidney Sheldon Award, the WorldFest-Houston Film Festival, the Chesterfield Writers P roject, the Texas Film Institute, the Latin USA Film Festival, the Blue Sky Film Festival, the Sperling Comedy Award, the George Burns Comedy Award and the Kurnitz Writing Award. Marcelo Mitnik was awarded a Screenwriting grant at UCLA in 2003 for The Dam - A True Story
