Sasie Sealy, Mark Heyman

Sasie Sealy is an award-winning writer/director based in New York City, with a (still) lingering Southern drawl. She began her directing career studying photography with Gregory Crewdson and writing and performing with the sketch comedy troupe The Fifth Humour. However, her love of striking visuals and physical comedy soon took cinematic form with the Super 8 film Big Head, and a lifelong addiction to filmmaking was born.

Sasie’s films have screened at the Smithsonian Institute and festivals around the world, and she has twice been awarded the short filmmaking prize at the Tribeca Film Festival. New York Magazine called her film Dance Mania Fantastic was broadcast on PBS and SBS, as well as selected as part of the IFP Buzz Cut showcase. Her commercial work has been featured in Variety and SHOOT, and includes clients like Maybelline, Tory Burch, Movado, Siemens, and the great state of New York.

Sasie is currently developing her debut feature SarahN_12 with Focus Features. The project has won numerous accolades, including grants from the Sundance Institute and the New York State Council on the Arts, and has been a featured project of Tribeca All Access and the Film Independent Directors Lab.
